New recording project for Lotus Lives with Magnitude6 at WGBH

Evan Bennett will conduct the international award-winning brass and percussion ensemble Magnitude6 in a recording of Su Lian Tan’s Lotus Lives at WGBH in April. The intermedia chamber opera, which he also conducted the first three productions of, has won international awards.

CONDUCTOR | EDUCATOR | COMPOSER | PERFORMER

Evan Bennett is a conductor, composer, oboist, and pianist who has won awards in composition and as a solo oboist. He currently is a faculty member at Northeastern University where he conducts the Northeastern University Symphony Orchestra and teaches chamber music, a faculty member at the Longy School of Music at Bard College in the Composition and Theory Department, and is Music Director of the Middlebury College Orchestra. He holds degrees from Harvard College, the Juilliard School, and Princeton University.
